TIkkun Olam -- Repairing the World

B'nai El is committed to Tikkun Olam, the repair of our world.  Our Social Action Committee is one of the most active committees in the Congregation.

The goals of the Social action Committee of B'nai El Congregation are as follows:

1.  Internal Social Action:  Finding ways to help our elderly members, who cannot drive, participate in Temple activities, especially Shabbat services.

2.  Dissemination of information:  Passing along information about Social Action in the larger community and finding opportunities for our members to participate in those efforts.

3.  Ongoing project:  We will be seeking an organization in the community with which to form a relationship and find a handful of B'nai El volunteers to work with the organization on a monthly basis, in addition to filling in for other volunteers on Christian holidays if necessary.

4.  Large program:  The social action committee will be working with the Rabbi to establish an annual program that will involve the entire B'nai El family for the purposes of Tikkun Olam.

5.  Participation in community efforts:  We will continue to send a representative to the Jewish Social Action Network meeting and take an active role in JSAN projects.

If you are interested in helping in any of these areas, please contact the B'nai El office.
