B'nai El Sisterhood has a long and distinguished tradition of service to and fund-raising for the Temple, service to the community and fellowship among its members. During monthly meetings we come together for lunch, a brief business meeting and a program of music, interesting speakers, or activities such as story telling or Zumba exercise. We sponsor and run the Temple Gift Shop. We are the bakers and providers of sweet and savory treats for weekly oneg shabbats and special desserts for the annual Chanukah Dinner, Purim Cakewalk, and Sisterhood Shabbat on Mother’s Day weekend. We co-sponsor and are enthusiastic supporters of the St. Louis Jewish Book Festival and the Jewish Film Festival. We facilitate B’nai El’s participation in both the High Holy Days Food Drive and a new Kosher for Passover Food Drive to benefit the Harvey Kornblum Jewish Food Pantry. We also do holiday gift wrapping at neighborhood bookstores and a shopping mall as a fund-raiser and join together for an evening out on the town at a movie or at a favorite restaurant. We welcome your participation in our activities. For more information about Sisterhood, please see our attached brochure.
