B'nai El has three Chavurah (extended family groups) within the congregation. All are open to new members and serve a wide variety of our congregants.
Chavurah Rishona was the first Chavurah of B'nai El Congregation, begun over 25 years ago. They have been meeting monthly since then. Most members of Chavurah Rishona are seniors. Couples and singles are welcome to join the group.
Chavurah East formed a little bit later, and originally was full of members who lived closer to the city of St. Louis at the time of its founding. Of course now the members are scattered through the entire St. Louis area and the group is similar to Chavurah Rishona in consisting of older adults, many of whom are still working, some retired.
Chavurah Chadasha was founded in 2005. It is an informal chavurah of the young families and young adults of B'nai El congregation. Many of the members of Chavurah Chadasha have young children. All young couples and singles are welcome to the events, which always feature something for both the adults and the children.
Feel free to call the office at (314) 432-6393 about any of the Chavurot.
